This Privacy Policy describes how The Legacy Office mobile application (the “App”), offered by co.thelegacyoffice (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the App on iOS, Android, or other supported platforms. The App is a private ebook and audiobook reader for titles associated with thelegacyoffice.co.
Summary
The App is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not operate advertising or analytics SDKs inside the App. Reading progress, bookmarks, notes, unlock status, and display preferences are stored locally on your device unless you delete the App or clear its data.
Information we do not collect
Through the App itself, we do not ask for or collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Payment or financial information (the App does not process in-app purchases)
- Precise location, contacts, photos, calendar, or health data
- Microphone or camera recordings (the App is playback-only and does not record audio)
Information stored on your device
To provide core functionality, the App stores data locally using your device’s storage (for example, via platform preferences APIs). This may include:
- Book access: which titles you have unlocked after entering a valid private access code (book identifiers only; access codes are not saved after redemption)
- Reading and listening progress: position in ebooks and audiobooks, playback speed, and related timestamps
- Bookmarks and notes: positions you save and text notes you create while reading or listening
- Display settings: such as dark mode, ebook font size, and font choice
- Cached media: copies of large bundled audiobook files may be written to app storage so playback can stream reliably
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers by the App. If you uninstall the App or reset its data, this locally stored information is typically removed, subject to your operating system’s behavior.
Book content and access codes
Ebook and audiobook files included with the App are bundled or loaded from your device. When you enter a private access code, the App validates it against configuration shipped with the App. Validation occurs on your device; we do not receive your access code through the App.
Network use and third parties
The App does not require a network connection for reading, listening, or unlocking books. However, certain features may contact third-party services over the internet:

Google Fonts: the App uses the Google Fonts package to load typography.
When a font is first needed, your device may request font files from Google’s servers
(for example,
fonts.googleapis.comand related hosts). Google’s handling of that request is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Downloaded fonts may be cached on your device for later offline use.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics services in the App.
Apple and platform services
On iOS, audiobook playback may use background audio and system media controls (for example, Control Center and lock screen). Those interfaces are provided by Apple; any data Apple processes in connection with the operating system is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
If you download or update the App through the Apple App Store, Apple may collect information related to the purchase, download, and use of the App as described in Apple’s policies. That collection is between you and Apple, not us.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it if we become aware of it.
Data retention and security
Because the App stores most information only on your device, you control retention by continuing to use the App, clearing its data, or uninstalling it. We implement reasonable measures in the design of the App to limit data collection, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information. Because the App keeps most data on your device, you can delete locally stored data by removing the App or using your device settings to clear app data where available.

International users
If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed on your device locally. Any limited network activity (such as font downloads) may involve servers operated in other countries by third-party providers.

Material changes may also be communicated through the App, App Store listing, or our website. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
